Anna Williamson might be renowned for guiding celebrities in their quest for love, but she admits that no one has all the answers when it comes to maintaining a healthy relationship.

The TV personality, who looks remarkably youthful as she speaks from her countryside home in Hertfordshire, offers some refreshingly candid insights into romance and stresses that no relationship is ever “perfect.”

At 43, Williamson, known for her role on Celebs Go Dating, married her husband Alex Di Pasquale in 2015. The couple now has two children: Vincenzo, seven, and Eleanora, four.

In our latest conversation, she shares what viewers can expect from the upcoming series of Celebs Go Dating (she’s a fan of Stephen Lustig-Webb!) and explains why she strongly supports couples therapy.

Anna talked about her relationship with Alex Di Pasquale stating,

“Yes. Although I’m a relationship coach, my husband and I still participate in couples’ therapy. We began before we got married and are quite passionate about it.

We’re aware of our humanity and the importance of therapy. I’ve witnessed how it can save many relationships. It’s important to note that while some relationships cannot be saved, many can.

I support love and marriage, but I also believe in divorce when necessary. Relationships require effort, including my own. None are perfect.

I understand the consequences of neglecting a relationship. My marriage is like many others. I’m a working mother, Alex is a working father, and we both work flexibly.

I faced postnatal depression after our first child, which had a significant impact on our marriage, and we’ve also dealt with grief and loss. Grief can be overwhelming.

Often, our relationship takes a backseat to jobs, friends, and family responsibilities. I find myself in the sandwich generation.

Despite everything, I’m proud of our marriage. We’ve had our share of ups and downs, and there have been moments when we’ve questioned if it’s worth continuing.

But we remind ourselves of the moment we first met, what drew us together, and why we decided to commit to each other.”

Anna Williamson describes the first moment of the relationship. “We’re somewhat of a cliché. He was my fitness coach while I was preparing for the ITV show Splash in 2014.

We started as good friends, and after working together, he invited me out for a pizza one night (typical Italian).

The energy between us just shifted. I thought he was attractive then, and I still do ten years later. We were married within a year. When you know, you know.”
