Liam Hemsworth and Gabriella Brooks are enjoying their life together in Australia, but marriage isn’t on their agenda. “They have no plans to get married anytime soon — and perhaps, not at all,” a source tells.
Hemsworth’s previous marriage to Miley Cyrus contributes to his reluctance. “Liam didn’t have a positive experience the first time around,” the insider explains. “Marriage isn’t something he views favorably.”
The Land of Bad actor, 34, had an on-and-off relationship with Cyrus, 31, spanning nearly a decade after meeting on the set of The Last Song in 2009.
They got engaged in 2012 but broke it off the following year. After reconciling in 2016, Hemsworth and Cyrus married in December 2018, but separated for good in August 2019.
Hemsworth quickly moved on with Brooks, whom he began dating in late 2019. Liam and Gabriella were really closed in December of that year, highlighting their shared values on family and life.
Brooks spoke about her relationship with the Hunger Games star in a December 2021 interview with Stellar magazine.
“My personal relationship is very, very important and sacred to me,” she said, noting that while her career is public, she prefers to keep some aspects private.
“I completely understand [the interest in our relationship],” she added, “but I like keeping that for myself.”
After nearly five years together, Hemsworth and Brooks’ relationship has flourished away from the spotlight.
“His family welcomed her with open arms, and he loves how seamlessly she fits in,” the insider reveals adding that the couple, who live in Australia, “have a wonderful relationship” and don’t feel the need for a marriage certificate to validate it.
The couple showcased their strong bond during a recent European vacation, sharing rare photos from the Greek islands in June. “Greece, what a wonderful place,” Hemsworth captioned his photos, including a picture of Brooks on the beach at sunset.
Brooks also posted beach photos on her Instagram, including one of Hemsworth in the ocean.
The couple later traveled to Copenhagen for another summer getaway, with Brooks sharing photos of an art installation featuring jellyfish on the ceiling, hinting that Hemsworth was with her.
