The Labour Party, led by Sir Keir Starmer, has won a decisive victory in the general election, securing a 403-seat majority and ending the Conservative Party’s 14-year rule. Rishi Sunak will be replaced as Prime Minister, as early polls had predicted a strong Labour win.
Celebrating the Labour Party’s win, Sir Keir said:
“The change begins right here. Because this is your democracy, your community and your future. You have voted. It is now time for us to deliver.”
Sir Keir Starmer’s current net worth is approximately £7.7 million, but it could potentially increase to between £10 million and £15 million when considering his other revenue sources and land holdings since 1996.
He earned a salary of £76,961 as an MP and an additional £49,193 for his role as the Leader of the Opposition.
Sir Keir Starmer previously served as the Director of Public Prosecutions and head of the Crown Prosecution Service from 2008 to 2013, positions known for their substantial salaries.
Between 2020 and 2021, he earned over £21,000 for his legal work as a barrister. In May 2020, it was reported that he owned seven acres of land in Surrey, purchased in 1996, and valued at up to £10 million.
Additionally, he and his wife, Victoria, own a home in North London bought for £600,000, which is now worth over £1 million.
