Pete Davidson Remains in Treatment for Mental Health Issues Since June 2023

Pete Davidson is currently undergoing treatment for his mental health. Davidson, 30, has decided to take a break from his stand-up tour.

His upcoming performances in Florida, scheduled for September, have been canceled, as reported by the Fort Myers News-Press. The Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall announced on Facebook that the cancellation was due to a “scheduling conflict.”

Reports surfaced on Wednesday, August 14, suggesting that Davidson had exited a wellness facility, but Us Weekly has learned that this is not accurate.

“Pete remains in his treatment program and would appreciate privacy at this time while he focuses on bettering his mental health,” a source close to Davidson.

This isn’t the first instance of Davidson seeking professional help for his mental health. In June 2023, multiple sources reported that Davidson entered rehab to address issues related to PTSD and borderline personality disorder.

Earlier this month, during a comedy set, Davidson joked about his rehab experience, noting that it helped him stop using various substances, although he wasn’t ready to quit smoking weed.

“I can’t quit [weed] yet. It’s all I have left,” Davidson said during his July 20 show in Atlantic City, according to the Daily Mail. “I did coke and ketamine and f–king all the pills and all that s–t.”

He continued, “All I have is weed left, so it’s almost over, but I’m holding on for a little bit longer.”

Davidson’s previous stint in rehab followed a reckless driving charge after crashing his car into a Beverly Hills home in March 2023.

No arrests were made at the scene as authorities did not believe drugs or alcohol were involved, and no injuries were reported.

In July 2023, Davidson was sentenced to 50 hours of community service, 12 hours of traffic school, and a course at a morgue for victims of reckless driving.

Two months later, Davidson returned to stand-up comedy with friends John Mulaney and Jon Stewart. During his set, Davidson joked about his “post-rehab glow” and mentioned that he had been using ketamine for four years.

In December 2023, Davidson made headlines again by canceling a series of shows.

The Beacon Theatre in New York City announced two hours before his scheduled performance that both that evening’s show and the following night’s performance had been canceled.

Ticket holders received refunds, but no further details were provided regarding the cancellation.

Davidson has been open about his mental health struggles over the years and his ongoing efforts to improve his well-being.

“As some of you know, I was recently diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, a form of depression,” he shared during an October 2017 episode of SNL.

“First of all, if you think you’re depressed, see a doctor and talk with him about medication and also, be healthy. Eating right and exercise can make a huge difference.”
