Mark Zuckerberg Puts Statue of His Wife Priscilla Chan in Their Backyard

Mark Zuckerberg is the ultimate “wife guy”! On Tuesday, August 13, the 40-year-old Facebook founder took to Instagram to reveal that he had commissioned a statue of his wife, Priscilla Chan, 39, as a gesture of love inspired by the ancient Romans.

In the photo, Chan is depicted sipping from a travel mug while donning a dusty pink robe with white and blue details, standing beside the statue that captures her likeness.

The colorful artwork, created by Daniel Arsham, portrays the mother of three in a wind-blown silver garment.

“Bringing back the Roman tradition of making sculptures of your wife,” Zuckerberg captioned the post, which also included a video showcasing the statue in a garden.

Chan shared the post on her Instagram Stories with a playful comment, writing, “You can’t miss me!”

A blog by National Museums Liverpool on Roman sculptures notes that statues and busts from that era were often created to honor deceased loved ones or to evoke significant familial connections and meaningful associations.

The couple first crossed paths at a college party in 2003 while both were attending Harvard. They tied the knot in a surprise outdoor ceremony at their Palo Alto, California home in May 2012.

The guests were under the impression that they were attending a party to celebrate Chan’s graduation from medical school.

Three years later, Zuckerberg and Chan welcomed their first child, Maxima, now 8. They also have two more daughters, August and Aurelia, with Aurelia being born in 2022.

This summer, the couple sported matching outfits at billionaire heir Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebration in India.

In an Instagram post, they were seen dressed in all-black attire, with Zuckerberg wearing a black suit adorned with gold dragonfly embellishments and a black shirt, while Chan dazzled in a black dress featuring decorative gold flowers.

“Love an Indian wedding. Congrats to Anant and Radhika,” Zuckerberg wrote in the caption.
