Kendall Washington from Love Island USA is adjusting to life outside the villa with Nicole Jacky. “Nicole and I really want to focus on what we have now and see how that fits into real life,” Kendall, 27, shared during the Tuesday, July 30, episode of “The Viall Files” podcast.
“Yes, we are together outside the villa, and it’s about figuring out, ‘OK, what does our life look like? How do we make this work outside?'”
On July 21, viewers witnessed Kendall and Nicole, 26, express their love during the season 6 finale. In their “Declaration of Love” speeches, both promised to continue their relationship beyond the show
According to Kendall, they continue to use the word “love” after filming, and it “for sure” feels different. However, transitioning from Fiji to the real world has been challenging.
“We’re honestly just taking it day by day because being in the public eye and seeing everyone’s opinions affects people differently,” Kendall told host Nick Viall.
“When I see negative comments about me or Nicole, I brush it off. But Nicole takes things differently.”
Kendall and Nicole are scheduled to reunite with the season 6 cast on August 19 for a reunion hosted by Ariana Madix. When asked about the likelihood of still being with Nicole during the special, Kendall was cautious.
“It’s not 100 percent because there are no guarantees about what will happen,” he explained. “I can’t predict the future, so saying it’s 100 percent would be a lie. But I believe our conversations can go well.”
Currently, both Kendall and Nicole are busy with their schedules in the United States after spending several weeks filming abroad.
Despite the uncertainties, Kendall made it clear he’s eager to pursue his relationship with the California resident. The feelings he has for Nicole are “something I’ve never felt towards anyone.”
“This isn’t solely my decision. It’s up to Nicole,” Kendall said. “Ultimately, we will respect whatever we decide, but we need to have those conversations. We just haven’t done that yet.” Love Island USA is currently streaming on Peacock.
