Justin Timberlake Barred From Driving At Recent Court Hearing for Drunk Driving Arrest

Justin Timberlake’s driving privileges in New York have been revoked following a recent court hearing related to his June arrest for driving while intoxicated (DWI).

The 43-year-old singer appeared virtually from Antwerp, Belgium, on Friday, August 2, and pleaded not guilty to an amended misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence.

During the hearing, Timberlake, dressed in a black collared shirt, attentively listened to Sag Harbor Village Justice Carl Irace and responded affirmatively to questions posed to him.

Irace suspended Timberlake’s driving privileges in New York, but the duration of the suspension remains unspecified. Timberlake’s attorney, Edward Burke Jr., clarified to reporters that such a suspension is “standard with every DUI.”

In the course of the proceedings, Burke withdrew a motion he had filed the previous week to dismiss the case. Judge Irace also addressed Burke’s comments to the media following the July 26 hearing, urging him to be cautious with his public statements, which Irace felt could be seen as attempting to influence the case.

Irace warned that if such comments continued, he might consider imposing a gag order or requiring Timberlake to attend the court in person, potentially disrupting his Forget Tomorrow World Tour in Europe.

The next hearing is set for August 9, with a provisional court date of September 13, contingent on developments at the upcoming hearing.

During the previous hearing on July 26, Burke stated that Timberlake was “not intoxicated” at the time of his June 18 arrest in Sag Harbor, New York.

He expressed confidence that the criminal charge would be dismissed, asserting that Timberlake’s arrest was based on significant errors by the police.

In a subsequent statement, Burke emphasized that Timberlake was cooperative with law enforcement and respected the judicial process.

He reiterated that Timberlake was not intoxicated and criticized the police’s handling of the case. Burke conveyed his belief that the charges would ultimately be dismissed.

In addition to the DWI charge, Timberlake received citations for running a stop sign and failing to maintain his lane.

According to Sag Harbor Police, Timberlake, driving his 2025 BMW, allegedly did not stop at a stop sign and failed to stay in his lane.

When authorities stopped his vehicle, they suspected he was intoxicated and arrested him. Timberlake was held overnight, arraigned at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court, and released on his recognizance.
