How Did Queen Elizabeth Die? It Was Peaceful And Painless For Her

According to a memo by Queen Elizabeth II’s private secretary, Sir Edward Young, the Queen’s final moments at Balmoral were “very peaceful” and without pain. He reportedly wrote that she “slipped away” in her sleep and “wouldn’t have been aware of anything.”

In short, one must note that Queen Elizabeth died of old age. It was that of her official death cause.

Queen Elizabeth II’s death certificate states that she passed away on 8th September 2022 at 3:10 p.m. local time (10:10 a.m. Eastern Time) at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

The certificate lists her name as Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor and, in the occupation field, simply notes “Her Majesty The Queen,” reflecting her status as Britain’s longest-reigning monarch.

On the day of Queen Elizabeth II’s death, Buckingham Palace announced she had been placed under “medical supervision” due to concerns from her doctors about her health.

Following this announcement, senior members of the royal family rushed to Balmoral Castle to be by her side. Her death was formally announced shortly after 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time on 8th September 2022.

Concerns about Queen Elizabeth II’s health intensified following one of her final public appearances when she appointed Liz Truss as the new British Prime Minister on 6th September 2022.

Breaking from tradition, the Queen was unable to travel to London for the occasion and instead met Truss at Balmoral Castle.

In the photographs from the event, which were some of the last taken of her, the Queen was seen using a cane indoors, and her hand appeared noticeably purple, which added to the public’s concern about her health.

In the months leading up to her death, Queen Elizabeth II’s health was closely monitored and often a subject of public concern.

The Queen had contracted COVID-19 in early 2022, which she described as leaving her “very tired and exhausted.”

Additionally, Buckingham Palace frequently referred to her having “episodic mobility issues,” which affected her ability to attend various public and official engagements.

These health concerns led to a reduction in her public appearances and adjustments to her royal duties.
