Sid Eudy, a prominent figure in professional wrestling known for his ring personas Sid Justice, Sid Vicious, and Sycho Sid, has passed away at the age of 63 following a battle with cancer.
He gained fame in the 1990s and was celebrated as one of the most formidable competitors of his era.
His contributions to the sport and his larger-than-life presence in the ring have left a lasting legacy.
His cause of death was revealed by his son, Gunnar Eudy, in a social media post.
“He was known as Psycho Sid Vicious to the world, but to our family, he was simply ‘Popper,’ the beloved grandfather,” Gunnar Eudy wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
“Sid was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 2016 and atrial fibrillation (better known as AFIB) around the same time. He was also given a pacemaker.
In April 2021, he was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which was linked to Roundup weed killer.
Although he never told anyone about his fight against cancer, Sid lived his life to the fullest, attending the gym, boxing classes, making appearances for his fans, and of course t-ball games for the kids.
“He passed away peacefully in his bed, leaving behind a legacy of strength and determination. I’ve never met anyone with a fraction of the strength as my father. He truly was one of a kind.”
Sid Eudy, widely known as “Psycho Sid” and “Sid Justice,” stood at 6-foot-9 and made a significant impact in professional wrestling.
He gained prominence in 1989 when he signed with WCW and faced off against some of the biggest names in the industry, including The Steiner Brothers, The Road Warriors, and The Four Horsemen.
His larger-than-life persona and presence in the ring made him a memorable figure in wrestling history.
Sid Eudy, debuting as Sid Justice in WWE, made a notable impact during SummerSlam 1991.
He served as the Special Guest Referee in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match where WWE Champion Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior faced The Triangle of Terror.
That night, he also made a memorable appearance by saving Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth from an attack by Jake Roberts and The Undertaker at their newlywed reception.
