How Did Michael Mosley Die? Police Makes Statement

The initial post-mortem examination of Dr. Michael Mosley revealed that he died of natural causes, according to a source.

His body was discovered in a rocky area on the Greek island of Symi on Sunday, four days after he went missing during his holiday.

The examination found no injuries that could have contributed to his death, and it was determined that he passed away around 16:00 local time on the same day he disappeared.

Dr. Michael Mosley, 67, went missing after setting off for a walk from Agios Nikolaos beach on the northeast side of the Greek island of Symi at around 13:30 local time on Wednesday.

His wife, Dr. Clare Bailey Mosley, reported him missing when he did not return as expected.

Greek authorities launched a thorough search for Dr. Michael Mosley amidst high temperatures, involving police, firefighters, divers, and a helicopter.

His body was discovered by the manager of a bar on Agia Marina beach, after the island’s mayor noticed something unusual by the bar’s fence and alerted the staff.

The initial conclusion that Dr. Mosley died of natural causes was based on the location where his body was found and the absence of any injuries.

Toxicology and histology reports have been requested for further investigation. CCTV footage obtained by the BBC shows Dr. Mosley disappearing from view as he descends a hillside near the bar before collapsing behind a wall.

Dr. Clare Bailey Mosley expressed on Sunday that her family found some solace in the fact that her husband “so very nearly made it” to safety before his death.

“He did an incredible climb, took the wrong route and collapsed where he couldn’t be easily seen by the extensive search team,” she said in a statement.

Dr. Clare Bailey Mosley paid tribute to her husband, describing him as “wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant,” following the “devastating” news of his death.

“We had an incredibly lucky life together,” Dr Bailey Mosley said.

“We loved each other very much and were so happy together.”
