Despite his declining health, he had not appeared in public since a heart attack in January 1997. A month before his death, his wife Barbara told the Las Vegas Sun that he was doing well.

“The rumors are just crazy,” she said. “You can’t believe it. He’s doing very well… He’s strong and walking around. We’re enjoying friends.”

On May 14, 1998, Frank Sinatra suffered a heart attack and was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

The ambulance arrived quickly due to heavy TV viewership of the “Seinfeld” finale.

Although Sinatra’s wife Barbara did not inform his children of the situation, she did notify his manager, Tony Oppedisano, who was present when Sinatra passed away.

Frank Sinatra was pronounced dead at 10:50 p.m. on May 14, 1998. His daughter Tina was informed of his passing at 11:10 p.m., which ignited a family feud that continues to be a point of contention.
