Hailie Jade Scott and Evan McClintock are expecting their first child!
The 28-year-old daughter of rapper Eminem made the announcement in her father’s music video for the song “Temporary,” released in October 2024.
The exciting news comes just months after Scott and McClintock tied the knot in May 2024, more than a year after he proposed in February 2023.
Although she grew up in the public eye, Scott has kept her relationship with McClintock relatively private.
Since the couple began dating in 2016, the social media influencer and host of the Just a Little Shady podcast has shared only a few glimpses of their romance online.
In July 2021, she posted a rare selfie of the two together with the caption, “I rarely share my feed, but when I do I’m happy it’s with you.”
Here’s what we know about McClintock, from how he met Scott to his professional life.
He studied at Michigan State University
Like Scott, McClintock attended Michigan State University, graduating in 2018 with a BA in Economics, according to his LinkedIn profile. After graduating, McClintock joined the software development company Scout.
McClintock has been with Scout since 2018, where he currently holds the position of enterprise growth executive.
He and Hailie Jade Scott have been together since 2016
The couple started dating after meeting at Michigan State University in 2016. While Scott’s Instagram is primarily filled with solo shots, McClintock has made a few appearances.
For instance, on Christmas (which is also Scott’s birthday) in 2019, she shared two photos of them from her ’70s-themed roller-disco party.
He’s also been featured in posts for her 21st birthday, St. Patrick’s Day in 2017, and Halloween in 2018.
He and Hailie Jade Scott keep their relationship mostly private
The couple doesn’t share much about their relationship publicly, aside from occasional photos together.
McClintock’s Instagram is set to private with just over 700 followers, in contrast to Scott, who has 3 million followers.
He has the approval of Hailie Jade Scott’s family
It seems McClintock has earned the approval of Scott’s famous father, Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers).
During a March 2020 interview on Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, the rapper briefly mentioned his daughter’s then-boyfriend.
“No babies,” Eminem responded when Tyson asked if Hailie had any children. “Just a boyfriend. She’s doing good,” he added, noting, “She’s made me proud for sure.”
After Scott shared a photo of her and McClintock in July 2021, Eminem’s younger brother, Nathan Kane Mathers, also showed his support, commenting, “My Homie Evan.”
On May 20, Scott took to Instagram to share photos from their wedding. In the post, she wrote about “waking up a wife this week,” and included images of her and McClintock in their wedding outfits, with Scott in a long white gown.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better, more beautiful weekend celebration,” she captioned the post.
“So so many happy tears were shed, laughs & smiles were had, & so much love was felt.
Evan and I are feeling so grateful for all of the family & friends that traveled to support us and be a part of this new chapter of our lives as husband & wife.”
They are expecting their first child together
Less than a year after their wedding, Eminem revealed the couple was expecting their first child in his music video for “Temporary,” released in October 2024.
The video reflects on Eminem’s relationship with his daughter as she grew up, featuring footage from her childhood.
Toward the end, Scott presents her father with a blue football jersey that says “grandpa” and a sonogram to announce the big news.
