The murder case of “General Hospital” star Johnny Wactor has made significant progress, according to law enforcement officials.
Early Thursday, police served search warrants and are in the process of making “multiple arrests,” as TMZ has learned.
The LAPD has identified members of the Florencia 13 gang in connection with Johnny’s murder, which occurred outside Level 8 in downtown Los Angeles, where he was employed.
The identification of suspects was aided by fingerprints found at the crime scene.
TMZ first reported that Johnny was fatally shot in late May by a group of thieves attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his car.
This development follows a recent press conference held by Johnny’s friends and family outside L.A. City Hall, where they urged the public to provide information to aid the investigation.
Earlier this month, the LAPD released surveillance images of three suspects and a stolen Infiniti sedan used during the crime.
In June, supporters of Johnny organized a march to honor his memory and to press city officials to ensure that those responsible for his murder are brought to justice.
The shooting occurred while Johnny’s car was on a jack as he and a coworker approached the thieves after a late shift at Level 8. Johnny, who was 37, was shot in the chest, which was the primary cause of death.
Following his death, Johnny was cremated, and his remains have been returned to his family in South Carolina.
