Dubai Princess Announces Divorce via Instagram, Accuses Husband of Infidelity

It appears that Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum made headlines with a social media post hinting at her request for a divorce.

In her Instagram post, she directed a pointed message towards her husband, Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum, which many interpreted as a call for separation.

This situation has drawn significant attention due to her prominent family background and the public nature of the announcement.

“Dear Husband, As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce,” Sheikha Mahra, 30, wrote.

“I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you,” she continued. “Take care. Your ex-wife.”

Indeed, the Arabian Royal Agency announced Sheikha Mahra and Sheikh Mana’s engagement in March of the previous year, as reported by Grazia Magazine.

The engagement was later officially confirmed by Sheikh Mana’s father, who celebrated the news with a congratulatory poem.

The recent social media post from Sheikha Mahra marks a dramatic shift from the earlier celebratory tone surrounding their engagement.

Sheikha Mahra and Sheikh Mana were married in May 2023, with a lavish reception held in Dubai in June 2023.

On her wedding day, Sheikha Mahra wore a stunning white embroidered ballgown designed by Dubai-based Ezra Couture.

The couple welcomed their daughter two months prior to the recent social media post suggesting Sheikha Mahra’s request for a divorce.

Sheikha Mahra announced her pregnancy on October 18, 2023, sharing an ultrasound photo on Instagram. Her caption, “Just the three of us,” highlighted the couple’s anticipation of their growing family.

In February, Sheikha Mahra celebrated her 30th birthday with a pink-themed gender reveal, where she announced they were expecting a baby girl. She shared the birth of her daughter on May 9 via Instagram with a photo of the newborn’s tiny hand.

On June 4, she posted a selfie with her daughter, captioned “Just the two of us.”

Her father, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is not only the ruler of Dubai but also the vice president and prime minister of the UAE.
