Quarterback Drake Maye and his girlfriend, Ann Michael Hudson, have been together since before Maye rose to football stardom.

The 2022 ACC Player of the Year has received steadfast support from Hudson throughout his journey to the 2024 NFL Draft.

This support has spanned from attending his high school games to cheering him on as the starting quarterback for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels.

Hudson has a deep connection to the sport Maye loves. Born on August 11, 2003, to former Wofford College football player Kevin Hudson and his wife, Alicia Hudson, she has been familiar with football from an early age.

After spending at least a year at the same high school, both Maye and Hudson chose to attend UNC.

Hudson is currently a student at UNC’s business school, majoring in business with a double minor in entrepreneurship and conflict management.

The couple has known each other for a long time and their families share a close bond. Hudson’s younger brother, Tad, played quarterback for UNC during his freshman year, backing up Maye before transferring in 2024.

She attended the University of North Carolina with Maye

While Drake Maye is celebrated as one of the best UNC Tar Heels quarterbacks in history—holding the record for the most passing yards in a single season—Hudson has also been making her mark at the university.

She is a student at the Kenan-Flagler Business School, majoring in business with minors in entrepreneurship and conflict management.

Hudson’s professional experiences include a strategy consultant internship at Piedmont Pennies and a role as a summer scholar at Deloitte in 2024.

She has also applied her business skills outside the classroom, serving as the vice president of finance for UNC’s Kappa Delta sorority.

Maye made their relationship Instagram official in 2020

Maye and Hudson attended William A. Hough High School together, though Maye later transferred to Myers Park High School. They both went on to attend UNC.

Maye made their relationship Instagram official in January 2020 with a New Year’s post, writing, “Bringing in ‘20 with a 10.” He also maintains a Highlight on Instagram featuring photos of himself and Hudson.

Her brother Tad was teammates with Maye

Hudson’s family has a football background, with her father having played for Wofford College and her younger brother Tad playing quarterback for the UNC Tar Heels. Tad was a backup to Maye during the 2023 season.

In April 2024, Tad announced his departure from UNC to enter the transfer portal, stating, “I have entered the transfer portal with 4 years of eligibility left. Thank you to UNC for everything. Excited for the journey!” on X (formerly Twitter).

She has supported Maye’s football career

Hudson has been a consistent source of support for Maye throughout his football career, from high school through college and his preparation for the 2024 NFL Draft.

The couple has attended various events together, including a spring formal, and Hudson frequently reposts updates about Maye’s games on X.

Maye celebrated an important milestone for Hudson on Instagram

As their relationship has grown, Maye and Hudson have celebrated each other’s milestones. On August 30, 2021, Maye commemorated Hudson’s 18th birthday and her start at UNC with a heartfelt Instagram post.

He shared two pictures of them together, writing, “Happy 18th to my girlfriend & best friend. Enjoy your day and college move in. I love you.”

They are both passionate about sports

Maye’s athletic prowess follows in the footsteps of his father, Mark Maye, who also played quarterback for the UNC Tar Heels. He has three brothers who have also pursued college sports.

Hudson has an extensive background in athletics as well. In high school, she was the captain of the varsity softball, field hockey, and cheerleading teams.

In 2022, she served as the assistant coach for the 10-and-under girls’ softball team at Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation.
