The love story of Dancing With the Stars pro Koine “Koko” Iwasaki and Kiki Nyemchek has fascinated fans ever since they met on reality TV in 2017.

The couple competed on season 14 of So You Think You Can Dance. Although they didn’t win the show, they found each other, with Iwasaki finishing in second place and Nyemchek in fourth.

Their chemistry became increasingly apparent during the 2017 So You Think You Can Dance Tour, and they officially confirmed their relationship in early 2018.

In early 2022, the couple participated in the Dancing With the Stars Tour, and by September of that year, Iwasaki was promoted to a pro for season 31. Just two months later, Nyemchek proposed, and the couple wed in July 2024.

Nyemchek and Iwasaki joined Val Chmerkovskiy, Maks Chmerkovskiy, and Peta Murgatroyd on their MVP: Confidential Tour as troupe dancers.

The pair welcomed their pup in 2020, Shumai, and explored Los Angeles together. The professional dancers enjoyed the end of summer in California. Both Iwasaki and Nyemchek appeared on The Masked Dancer.

February 2022: “To my mans. The other day before I went on stage, I was watching you dance and I felt this overwhelming rush of love, admiration, joy, and gratitude all bundled up in one moment and I wanted to cry. Lol,” Iwasaki wrote in a Valentine’s Day tribute to her boyfriend.

“Little do you know, (or actually you probably do know lol) that I have those moments all the time. Through the best and worst times, I know we’ll choose each other for life. I love you.”

JIwasaki and Nyemchek tied the knot in Oregon on July 27, 2024 in front of 100 guests.

“Being married to Kiki feels like everything in life happened exactly the way it was supposed to,” Iwasaki told Brides after the wedding.

“He is my best friend, dance partner, and the love of my life all in one. Loving him is easy, and being married to him makes me feel really lucky and giddy inside. It feels exactly right.”
