Christina Hall and Heather El Moussa guide Tarek El Moussa from behind the scenes in a playful new skit.
The video, shared on Instagram by all three HGTV stars on Friday, July 26, promotes their upcoming series “The Flip Off”.
In the clip, Heather, Tarek’s current wife, and Christina, his ex-wife, communicate with Tarek via headsets as he walks onstage to give a real estate talk.
“Did you give him all the talking points?” Hall, 41, asks, to which Heather, 36, replies, “I gave him everything, so he’s ready.”
“Smile and blink your eyes!” Heather instructs her husband through her microphone. “Wave to everyone!” They then prompt him to discuss “expired listings,” but grow frustrated when he begins delivering the wrong speech.
“I can’t do this anymore; we’re done,” Heather tells Hall, and the two women walk off. “Plot twist: we’re the brains behind the operation! ,” reads the caption on the post.
Tarek, 42, commented on the video, writing, “Omg what is this!!!!” and joking, “they set me up lol” when an Instagram user questioned whether he was in on the joke.
This video is the latest in a series of promos the trio has posted for “The Flip Off”, which HGTV announced in May. It’s also the first they’ve shared since news broke of Christina’s split from husband Josh Hall, 43, who was initially set to participate in the show.
While HGTV has not confirmed Josh’s current involvement in the series, multiple sources told that “The Flip Off” has resumed filming without Christina’s estranged husband after he filed for divorce on July 15.
The network described the show as a competition where the two couples would “compete to see who can find, buy, renovate and flip a house for the biggest financial gain (and a chance at major bragging rights).”
However, it’s unclear how the format might change without Christina’s partner competing.
The Flip Off, scheduled to debut in 2025, marks Tarek and Christina’s first onscreen reunion since their original series Flip or Flop ended in March 2022 after nine years.
Christina and Tarek, who divorced in 2016 after seven years of marriage, share daughter Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, 8.
Christina also has a son, Hudson, 4, with her second husband, Ant Anstead. Tarek and Heather welcomed a son, Tristan, in 2023.
The two couples had been sharing playful promos to tease the show for weeks before the news of Christina and Josh’s divorce, though Josh only appeared in a few.
In one promo, Christina and Heather jokingly curse at each other and give the middle finger, while another shows Tarek mistaking Christina for Heather, nodding to fans who have noted a resemblance between the two women.
Josh’s divorce filing after nearly three years of marriage cited “irreconcilable differences” and requested spousal support from the HGTV star.
Christina responded with her own legal filing on July 24, asking that neither partner be allowed to request support and detailing the various real estate assets at stake, including their $12 million Newport Beach, California mansion.
After the news of the divorce, a source told that the couple “had issues in the marriage for quite some time.”
