Cameron Mathison was seen out shortly after announcing his separation from his wife of 22 years, Vanessa Mathison.
New photos show the 54-year-old All My Children alum walking with Aubree Knight, a Los Angeles-based esthetician, on Thursday, August 1, after she visited him at his home.
The two were spotted laughing and chatting before heading out for a meal together. Knight is known for running Aubree Knight Beauty.
On Wednesday, July 31, Cameron and Vanessa issued a joint statement announcing their separation, just four days after their 22nd wedding anniversary.
The General Hospital star said, “After 22 years of marriage, we have made the difficult decision to part ways. We enter this new chapter with deep love, kindness, and respect for each other. We hold gratitude in our hearts for the wonderful years we shared together.”
The statement continued, “Our children have been and will continue to be our highest priority, and we will forever share in our devotion and love for them.”
The couple married on July 27, 2002, and have two children—son Lucas, born in April 2003, and daughter Leila, born in July 2006.
Fans began speculating about their relationship status after Cameron posted several photos from the summer without Vanessa.
He captioned the post, “Summer photo dump,” and added, “Last few weeks before I’m an official empty nester.”
A few weeks earlier, Cameron shared highlights from a trip to Arizona, where Vanessa was also notably absent.
He captioned the photos, “Magical trip through AZ so far with my two loves,” and mentioned their children’s upcoming plans:
“This fall, Lucas is off to London for the Foundation Program at Central St Martin fashion design and Leila is off to American University in Paris for psychology.” He concluded with, “Every moment is so precious.”
Cameron recently discussed marital challenges during his time on Dancing with the Stars in 2007.
In June, he appeared on Cheryl Burke’s Sex, Lies and Spray Tans podcast and revealed that he had concerns about being paired with professional dancer Edyta Śliwińska because she “didn’t wear a lot of clothes.”
“I called [the casting director] and I said, ‘Listen, I’m so happy that you’ve offered me the show. I can’t wait. I’m in. Just do me a favor. Put me with anybody but Edyta,'” Cameron recalled.
He explained that he and Vanessa were facing challenges at the time, and he wanted to make the situation as comfortable as possible for her. “I tried,” he added.
“I did everything in my power to make that as easy for [Vanessa] as possible, but it just is what it is. I mean, you can be married and do the show, obviously, but it can be, depending on the circumstances—it’s just really hard.”
