Suzanne Hinn has indeed filed for divorce from her husband, televangelist Benny Hinn, in Hillsborough County Court in Tampa, Florida.
This is Suzanne’s second attempt at legal separation, having previously filed for divorce in 2010 citing “irreconcilable differences” after 30 years of marriage.
Benny Hinn addressed the situation on his ministry’s website, stating that Suzanne had been taking prescription medications for about 15 years to manage personal struggles. He claimed that these medications caused her to behave erratically at times.
“As her husband, I did not know the extent of her reliance on these medications, nor did I fully understand just how much harm they were causing to her, physically and emotionally.”
Benny and Suzanne Hinn, who married in 1979 and have four children, faced public scrutiny over their relationship, particularly when Benny was photographed with Paula White, though he denied any affair.
Despite reconciling and remarrying in 2013, Suzanne’s recent divorce filing has reignited discussion about their relationship.
According to a source, the court filing shows Benny Hinn’s address as being in Palm Coast, Florida, while Suzanne’s is in Longwood, Florida, with their home valued at over $1 million (£779,100).
Benny Hinn, known for his controversial prosperity gospel teachings, recently announced that he has renounced these doctrines.
His ministry has also faced criticism over financial appeals during global crises, adding to the controversies surrounding him.
