Ben Willoughby has moved on with Sunny Marquis, but he’s recently revisited his past drama with ex Camille Lamb, alleging that she cheated on him with Below Deck alum Bobby Giancola.
In a recent interview, Ben recounted the end of his brief romance with Camille, which unfolded after their collaboration on season 10 of Below Deck.
“I think it’s probably one of the worst stories that’s happened and gone under the radar,” Ben claimed. “I went home to Australia for a couple of weeks, and then I planned to meet up with her to continue our relationship.”
Upon returning to the United States, Ben discovered that Camille was allegedly involved with Bobby, a former cast member from an earlier season.
“I got back to the United States, and she was [seeing] somebody else from previous seasons. It’s a tall, muscular fireman from one of the earlier seasons, Mr. Bobby,” Ben claimed. “I just called her out on it.”
Ben continued: “One night, while we were together, I said, ‘Look, what’s going on? You’re acting a bit off. There’s somebody else, isn’t there?’ She went bright red like a tomato. So, I said, ‘Bingo, got you there.’ And she admitted it.”
Camille denied the allegations on Friday, August 16, “Ben was never my boyfriend. He never asked me to be exclusive. We never said ‘I love you.’”
Camille explained that Ben misunderstood her intentions regarding their future. “He was planning to move to the U.S. and I said, ‘Yes, come be with me,’” she recalled.
“Then a week later, I told him, ‘Maybe it’s not a good idea because I’m seeing other people.’ I never cheated on him. I communicated as kindly as possible that I was seeing other people.”
Bobby, who appeared on seasons 1 and 2 of Below Deck Mediterranean, also addressed the situation, stating that he believed Camille and Ben had been “done for quite a while” by the time he started seeing her.
Ben and Camille first appeared together on Below Deck season 10 in 2022. Their relationship heated up before Camille was fired, and they stayed in touch via text.
They later reunited on-screen during the season and seemed to be going strong until Ben confirmed their split after filming concluded.
Ben returned to Below Deck for season 11 and began a connection with Sunny. Despite this, his lingering feelings for Camille were evident.
“Being back on board St. David felt like taking a stroll down memory lane. With Camille, there was an instant spark.
We were very much like kids in love. I’ve been thinking about her recently,” Ben said on camera during an April episode. “Maybe there’s a part of me that believes something could still be there because we were great together. See what girls have done to me?”
After briefly halting his romance with Sunny, Ben attempted to reconcile with Camille, but she was not interested. He and Sunny later resumed their relationship and left St. David together by the end of the season.
“It’s a bit of a roller coaster between Sunny and me,” Ben told in March. “Sunny initially said she didn’t want a relationship and was there just to enjoy the experience.
As things progressed, we both became more involved, which made it hard for me to focus solely on work as I was stepping into a leadership role.”
He added: “I think she took some things personally when they should have been just about work. I very much want to see her after the show. Right now, I need to focus on my job first and then see what might develop.”
After the conclusion of season 11 in May, Ben and Sunny confirmed their relationship status via Instagram, stating, “Yes, you guessed it. we are still together!
Finally, we can let go of the secrecy that has been held for the past 15 months. We want to thank you all for the support throughout season 11 @belowdeckbravo. It’s been a rollercoaster reliving the season and the beginning of a relationship.”
Ben also shared details about how they kept their relationship under wraps for so long.
“We traveled the globe together last year, and Sunny came to Australia for Christmas,” he wrote in a separate post that month.
“We had an amazing time traveling from Mexico, Italy, Greece, Morocco, the Canary Islands, and Australia. This one is a keeper; she’s a special person.”
