Blac Youngsta, the Memphis rapper known for collaborations with artists like Lil Yachty and T-Pain, appears to be stepping back from the spotlight due to several challenges, including legal issues, personal struggles with mental health, a shift in musical focus, involvement in business ventures, and a change in his social media content.
He has been signed to Yo Gotti’s CMG label since the start of his career, but rumors emerged in 2021 suggesting he was dropped.
Despite this speculation, the rumors were false, as he was featured on CMG’s 2022 album Gangsta Art, which included contributions from major artists like Coi Leray and Glorilla. This confirms that Blac Youngsta remains with the label.
On August 18, it was announced that Blac Youngsta’s younger brother, Tomanuel Benson, tragically passed away in their hometown of Memphis.
The cause of death was reported to be gun violence, though the individuals involved have not been publicly identified.

Blac Youngsta is not only known for his music but also for his public feuds, particularly with the late Young Dolph.
Their long-standing rivalry escalated in 2017 when Blac Youngsta was charged with allegedly firing over 100 shots at Young Dolph’s vehicle, though the case was later dropped.
Even after Young Dolph’s death, the tension persisted. Blac Youngsta sparked controversy by releasing the music video for his song “I’m Assuming,” where he appeared to be near Dolph’s grave. Despite backlash, Blac Youngsta remained unfazed by the criticism.
