Amber Portwood from Teen Mom is working hard to move on after her sudden breakup with ex-fiancé Gary Wayt.

“Amber has been spending the past few weeks healing and reflecting on everything that happened.

She’s currently focused on finishing up her home and getting her life back on track. She’s even put herself on a sleep schedule to stay mentally strong.”

In June, it was reported that Portwood, 34, and Wayt, 39, ended their engagement.

The breakup occurred after an emotional conversation, which led to Portwood reporting Wayt missing. Fortunately, the police located him a few days later, and the case was closed.

“The situation with her ex really caught her off guard,” the insider revealed.

“She believed he was her first true love. He proposed to her and made many promises about their future, only to disappear. Finding someone worthwhile is tough for most people right now, and Amber is no exception.”

The source added, “She realizes she has a pattern of choosing the wrong men.” Portwood and Wayt haven’t spoken since they called off their engagement in June.

Wayt still has belongings at Portwood’s house, and she’s ready to move on and get rid of them.

Portwood first appeared on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant in 2009 before starring in several spinoff series, including Teen Mom and Teen Mom OG.

Her journey for love has been documented on camera, including past relationships with Gary Shirley, Andrew Glennon, and Matt Baier. (Portwood shares a 15-year-old daughter, Leah, with Shirley and a 5-year-old son, James, with Glennon.)

In recent episodes of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, Portwood expressed her commitment to making her relationship with Wayt work.

“We started going to couples therapy,” Portwood shared in the June 27 episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.

“It feels good to do that for the first time because, you know, I’m not great at relationships, especially when it’s a healthy one. This is something I don’t want to mess up.”

Wayt also expressed his dedication to Portwood, saying, “Finding someone I truly love is what I’ve been looking for, and we’re both fully committed. I love you.”
