Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have officially listed their Beverly Hills mansion for sale amid their pending divorce. The 38,000-square-foot estate, which features 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms, is listed for $68 million.
This price is nearly $8 million more than what they paid for the property last year. The listing follows previous attempts to sell the house off-market.
The listing notes that the Beverly Hills mansion was renovated to the highest quality within the last four months.
This recent renovation adds to the property’s value and appeal, potentially justifying the higher asking price of $68 million.
The five-acre estate also boasts a 5,000-square-foot guest penthouse, a caretaker house, a two-bedroom guardhouse, and a 12-car garage with parking for up to 80 vehicles.
For recreation, the mansion includes a fully equipped gym, a boxing ring, a sports lounge, a bar, and courts for basketball and pickleball.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez spent two years finding their ideal home before purchasing the property in May 2023 for $60.85 million in cash.
The mansion was initially listed at $135 million in 2018, but the price was reduced to $75 million five years later before they acquired it.
Despite buying the mansion for significantly less than its initial asking price, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez may face financial losses due to the high cost of renovations and the Los Angeles mansion tax.
Despite the substantial investment, it’s reported that Ben Affleck never really “liked” the home. This could be one reason for the quick decision to list it for sale.
“Ben never liked the house,” the source shared. “It’s too far away from his kids.”
Even Lopez reportedly thought the property was “too big for her.”
Jennifer Lopez has been staying at the Beverly Hills property alone in recent months. Speculation about their relationship troubles started in May when Ben Affleck moved into a rental home about 30 minutes away.
During their marital difficulties, Jennifer Lopez took a solo trip to Europe, where she was seen enjoying a boat day with friends.
Meanwhile, Ben Affleck reportedly used the opportunity to move his belongings out of their shared home.
Sources told that reconciliation appears “slim” as their marriage has reportedly been “over for months.”
Additionally, Affleck was spotted without a sentimental piece of jewelry just one day before their home was listed.
