Vladimir Bure, the esteemed swimmer and hockey coach, has passed away in Miami at the age of 73.
He, an Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, had experienced a heart attack and subsequent severe health issues, including a stroke in 2017 that left him in a coma for a month.
He was also the father of Pavel and Valery Bure, renowned NHL players and Olympic and World Championship medalists. Pavel Bure currently serves as the special representative of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation for international affairs.
Vladimir Bure, a distinguished athlete and coach, was a silver and three-time bronze medalist at the Olympic Games in swimming, a two-time silver medalist at the World Championships, and the European champion in the 1970 relay.He was honoured with the title of Honored Master of Sports of the USSR in 1972.
After retiring from competitive swimming in the late 1970s, Bure focused on coaching. He relocated to the USA in 1991, continuing his influence in the sports world.
