Erin Krakow and Ben Rosenbaum have their own Hallmark-style romance. Krakow and Rosenbaum, who both star in the Hallmark Channel’s long-running series When Calls the Heart, made their relationship public in February 2024.
The couple, who had been the subject of fan speculation for over a year, confirmed their romance with Instagram posts after keeping their relationship private.
They are not the only couple from the show; their co-stars Kevin McGarry and Kayla Wallace confirmed their relationship in 2020 and got engaged in 2022.
Although Krakow and Rosenbaum have kept details of their relationship sparse, Krakow spoke in April 2024 about the “magic” and romance that exists on the set of When Calls the Heart.
“I do think there’s just something special about the show and the people involved,” Krakow noted. “When you put a bunch of special people together in one place, connections are bound to be made.”

Krakow and Rosenbaum became Instagram official on February 15, 2024, though the duration of their relationship prior to this announcement remains unclear.
Krakow publicly confirmed their relationship by posting a carousel of images on Instagram, including a photo of her kissing Rosenbaum on the cheek, with an anatomical heart emoji accompanying the photo.
Rosenbaum also made his own post on social media, sharing a screenshot of his lock screen featuring a photo of Krakow with their dog, Willoughby. In his caption, he wrote a heartfelt message to Krakow: “First thing I see when I wake up. Last thing I see before sleep. Happy Valentine’s Day.”
Over a year before publicly acknowledging their relationship, Krakow and Rosenbaum fueled speculation by adopting a dog together, which led fans to question if they were involved romantically.
On January 15, 2023, Krakow shared a photo of their puppy Willoughby, tagging Rosenbaum and writing, “We adopted him a week ago and I already can’t imagine life without him.”
The following day, Rosenbaum posted a picture with Willoughby and introduced the newest member of their family, tagging Krakow in the photo.
In January 2023, Krakow and Rosenbaum took a significant step in their relationship by adopting a dog. Krakow announced the adoption on social media, showing Willoughby and tagging Rosenbaum. He also shared a similar post the next day.
They celebrated Willoughby’s “gotcha day” on January 8, 2024, with Krakow posting a photo of Willoughby lying on the beach and another of a bone-shaped cake that read, “Happy Gotcha Day.”
Rosenbaum shared two photos of himself with Willoughby taken a year apart, writing in the caption, “1 year together and we’ve both got a lot more grey in our facial hair. Love this boy and it’s his gotcha day today (Jan 08).”
The couple has frequently shared photos and videos of their dog on social media, including pictures of Willoughby with Krakow at work and participating in the National MS Society Walk MS in Los Angeles with Rosenbaum for the second year.
Krakow and Rosenbaum are both featured in the Hallmark Channel drama set in the early 20th century. Despite their off-screen romance, their on-screen characters have different love interests.
The show has been running for all 11 seasons since its debut in 2014. Krakow plays Elizabeth Thornton, a schoolteacher who was previously married to Jack Thornton (played by Daniel Lissing) until his character’s death at the end of season 5.
