YouTuber and British influencer Luke Goodwin has passed away following a diagnosis of cancer. He was 35 years old.
His wife, Beckey Goodwin, announced the news in a YouTube video titled “Little Update On Our Warrior” on August 4. “This is a video that I never wanted to do,” Beckey said. “Luke sadly passed away on the 2nd of August.
He passed away peacefully at home, with me, his mum, and his dad by his side. Luke is at peace now and is no longer in any pain. I wanted to update you all, as all of his followers have been absolutely amazing, keeping his spirits strong.”
Beckey noted that their two children, Taylor, 5, and Scarlett, 3, have adjusted to the news “very well” and are feeling supported by friends and family.
Beckey praised her husband, saying, “He was an amazing person. He taught me how to be strong even during the toughest times. … He was just amazing—an incredible dad, son, and husband.”
Luke was diagnosed with stage 4 Leiomyosarcoma in August 2022. According to the Mayo Clinic, this rare cancer originates in smooth muscle tissue and often spreads rapidly to damage normal body tissues.
Throughout his illness, Luke used his social media platforms to organize charity events and raise funds for others facing similar diagnoses. He also kept his followers updated on his health journey.
In his final YouTube video, posted on July 18, Luke acknowledged that his condition had worsened. “It’s really been f—ing hard,” he said. “I’ve never felt anything like it. I’ve been out of breath, sick, with phlegm, you name it. But I am on the mend; I will not be defeated.”
Luke also set up a crowdfunding page to support his family during his illness. “I know how expensive funerals and everything associated with them can be, not to mention the heartache my family must endure,” he wrote.
“I’ve always found a way to overcome what cancer threw at me, but I am growing weak. I want to ensure my little family has the best I can provide—good times, memories they’ll cherish forever, and keeping our minds positive and happy while we can.”
As Luke’s family continues to grieve his loss, Beckey shared how they plan to move forward. “It’s still rather raw at the moment, but you’ve got to keep your head strong,” she said in a YouTube video. “That’s what Luke would say.”
