Aerie has named Iskra Lawrence its new #AerieReal Role Model. Known for her advocacy work with the National Eating Disorder Association, Lawrence has been featured in Aerie’s unretouched campaigns for intimates, loungewear, and swimwear since 2014.
Her role as #AerieReal girl highlights her commitment to promoting self-love and body acceptance among young women.
Aerie global brand president Jennifer Foyle said that the company also is a supporter of NEDA.
“AerieReal is about embracing all body types, any flaws and empowering young girls today,” Foyle said.
In her new role with Aerie, Iskra Lawrence will participate in a pop-up truck tour across U.S. colleges from February 28 to March 20, appear in free-standing stores and events nationwide, and share her fitness and lifestyle tips with customers.
“Aerie shares my values in uplifting women, building their confidence and embracing the unique qualities that make us all beautiful,” Lawrence said.
Since launching #AerieReal in 2014, Aerie has ceased using Photoshop in its intimates and swimwear visuals.
Notable figures featured in these unretouched campaigns include Emma Roberts, Gray Malin, Barbie Ferreira, Elia Almeida, and Ally Walsh. Aerie is a brand under the American Eagle Outfitters umbrella.
