Lady Gaga seemed to confirm her engagement to boyfriend Michael Polansky while attending the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
On Sunday, July 28, footage shared on Instagram captured Gaga, 38, introducing Polansky to the Prime Minister of France, Gabriel Attal, as “my fiancé, Michael,” during their conversation.
Although Polansky’s face wasn’t visible in the footage, photos from the event showed him wearing a distinctive black baseball cap with white lettering.
Gaga was seen in a Team USA jacket and black sunglasses, with her platinum blonde hair pulled back into a simple ponytail.
Just days earlier, on Friday, July 26, Gaga performed at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics, singing “Mon Truc en Plume” entirely in French along the banks of the River Seine.
Speculation about the couple’s engagement first arose in April when Gaga was spotted in West Hollywood wearing a large diamond on her left ring finger. Gaga and Polansky were first linked in December 2019 and spent the COVID-19 lockdown together.
“Day 6 of self-quarantining! Going strong, playing video games and cards, and taking care of ourselves,” the “Bad Romance” singer captioned a selfie of the couple on Instagram in March 2020. “Important reminder: keep your mind as stress-free as possible and your body moving.”
In a November 2021 interview, Gaga emphasized that her “dogs and the man that I love are my whole life.” However, early in 2023, rumors suggested the couple was facing challenges in their relationship.
A source told at the time that the pair had worked through some issues and were now in a better place. “They’re in a much better place now and feel comfortable socializing as a couple,” the insider noted.
Gaga was previously engaged to Taylor Kinney from 2015 to 2016 and then to Christian Carino from 2017 to 2019. After these two engagements ended, Gaga decided to “take it slow” with Polansky, as another source revealed.
“[He] brings real stability to her life,” the insider shared in January 2021, noting that the couple was “beyond smitten with each other” and that Gaga’s “fame” was of no concern to Polansky.
“When they’re together, they are always touching, giggling, and it’s clear they really love each other,” the source told.
