Post Malone has surprised fans with a deluxe edition of his album F-1 Trillion: Long Bed, which includes nine additional solo tracks.
Listeners quickly began drawing comparisons between Malone and his “Fortnight” duet partner, Taylor Swift.
Swift had previously released a similar deluxe edition of her album The Tortured Poets Department in April, adding 15 new tracks just three hours after the original album’s debut on The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology.
Post Malone has released his first country album, which features a notable collaboration with country music legend Dolly Parton.
Malone, aged 29, joined forces with 78-year-old Parton for the track “Have the Heart” on F-1 Trillion, which was released on Friday, August 16.
Following the song’s release on streaming platforms, Parton posted a photo on Instagram with Malone, who was wearing a baseball cap emblazoned with “Dolly” in red letters.
“Listen to ‘Have The Heart’ with @postmalone everywhere now,” Parton captioned the photo.
Parton is one of many country icons featured on F-1 Trillion, an album that Malone has been promoting for months. The album also includes collaborations with Tim McGraw, Luke Combs, Hank Williams Jr., Sierra Ferrell, Lainey Wilson, Blake Shelton, and others.
“Thank you to everyone involved in the making of this project,” Malone wrote on Instagram on Friday. “I am so honored to have worked with some of my favorite artists, writers, and friends… I have had the time of my life making this record.
It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and I’m so excited for the opportunity. Everyone keep expressing yourself, having fun, loving what you do, and loving each other. I love you more than I can say. Have a great night mofo’s, and I’ll see you soon.”
In an interview with Apple Music, Malone mentioned that working with McGraw, 57, was one of the most intimidating experiences for him.
“Tim was freaky,” Malone explained. “It’s just terrifying. … No, but it’s just like he just comes in normal, and I’m like, ‘F–k.’ … Oh, my God, I can’t even. I’m like, ‘This is out of control. This is the coolest s–t ever.’” F-1 Trillion is now available.
