Charlotte Dawson has reportedly reconciled with her fiancé, Matt Sarsfield, after discovering he had been sexting another woman and subsequently asking him to leave their home.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Charlotte, 31, was “hurt and humiliated” upon learning that Matt had sent explicit messages to someone else.
The couple, who have been together for eight years and share two sons, Noah, three, and Jude, one, have faced significant strain from this revelation.
Friends mentioned that Charlotte had put aside her own emotions to focus on caring for their children.
Friends of Charlotte noted that she was “completely blindsided” when she found out Matt had sent an explicit image to another person. They also said it is “unclear” whether their relationship will withstand this crisis.
However, Charlotte appears to have given Matt another chance after seeing his distress. Speaking on her podcast, Naughty Corner, she shared that Matt had been living with his parents and was “absolutely broken” after being asked to leave their family home and being separated from his sons.
Despite this, it seems Charlotte might have extended an olive branch, as a source revealed that Matt has been spending considerable time back at their home.
An insider told, “Charlotte has missed Matt so much, and he’s been spending lots of time back at the house. She acknowledges his wrongdoing and hasn’t forgotten it, but she has essentially forgiven him. He has been very helpful around the house and is eager to reintegrate as if nothing happened.”
This follows a statement from Emily Louise Hodgkinson, 34, who expressed shock after former Swinton Lions player Matthew, 32, sent her an intimate photo last month.
Emily, who met Matthew through her ex who played rugby with him, said, “I feel so sorry for Charlotte. How could he do that to her? I’d be mortified if a partner did that to me behind my back.”
Emily also noted that Matthew seemed “worried” when she took a screenshot of the image and questioned what she planned to do with it.
A source close to Charlotte added, “Naturally, friends are angry that Charlotte has been publicly humiliated by Matt’s actions.
Such behavior impacts the entire family, especially their two young sons. Charlotte is struggling to process his actions. She has always supported Matt through various ups and downs, and his recent actions have been very difficult for her.”
In 2020, Matthew proposed to Charlotte in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, by a statue of her late father, comedian Les Dawson.
Charlotte, who was eight months old when her father passed away in 1993, has a tattoo of him on the back of her neck.
Just a few months ago, Charlotte shared how she was “loving life” after losing over a stone in weight and enjoying a family vacation in the Maldives.
